To the Max is an incredible program by Cathe Friedrich. Why? Because it has a little bit of everything you’d want in a good home workout.
Almost every video Cathe Friedrich releases includes premix routines (additional workouts) and To the Max is no exception.
To the Max Extreme is my favorite premix workout in the To The Max program.
Here’s a peek at the workout:

My Rating– A
This workout is advanced!
First there’s a step routine
Then a tabata routine (with the step)
Next is a HiiT (high-intensity interval training) routine with 3 risers and a band
Then an aerobic segment using the discs
To the Max Extreme has a bonus routine that Cathe calls a ‘Bonus Fit Tabata’ using a step with 3 risers and 8 lb weights
Then when you’re completely exhausted there’s an ab segment.

The tabata segments are 20 seconds each, the Hiit segments are 30 seconds. Keep your equipment close by. The rest between segments is very short (30 seconds, I think).
You need to commit on straddle taps (2 risers is high for these). As soon as you decide your legs are made of lead you’ll catch your toe on the step and break your neck. Same goes for straddle jumps. She does this one with 3 risers. You’ll kill yourself if you’re not giving 100%.
The ab routine feels more like a shoulder workout because of the weights she uses. Sometimes I can power through with the 10’s but usually my shoulders are fried by this time so I use the 8’s and 5’s instead.
To The Max Extreme is one of my favorite workouts because you get a little bit of everything.
I’d give it an A+ if there was less equipment involved (Here’s a workout I did give an A+). But don’t avoid this video because of the amount of equipment Cathe uses.
To the Max is a great workout with several premix routines (and well-worth the investment).
