The team in Core 20 (just one of the incredible routines in Turbo Fire) will inspire you.
I mean, what woman DOESN’T want a belly like Monica (the mother of triplets)?
Monica is featured in this video:
While Turbo Fire’s Core 20 is fun and has a few very creative exercises, I don’t think it’s the most effective core workout I’ve ever done.
Let me explain why you should try Core 20 and decide for yourself…

My Rating: B-
First of all—Monica (the girl on the stage to Chalene’s right with a washboard stomach) has had triplets! WTH! I hate her so bad right now. (Not really. Obviously she’s inspiring but still…wth!)
Be aware that you need the PERFECT tubing (with the perfect resistance) to be able to do the exercises the way Chalene is doing them. If your band is too tight or too loose you won’t be able to do the moves correctly and/or won’t feel anything. My tubing is too tight for some of the moves and perfect for others.
A good idea might be to have two tubes out that have vastly different amounts of resistance.
*I started to give you a suggestion for tubing based on color but the resistance isn’t consistent with color across different brands.
I have mixed feelings about Turbo Fire Core 20.
I like the idea of standing abs but if your form isn’t perfect then you won’t get a thing out of it.
Chalene says several times that it’s a ‘feeling’ you’re looking for to know you’re doing it right. I’m able to find the ‘feeling’ she’s talking about but I work out almost every day.
Don’t feel bad if it takes a while for you to get anything out of this.
The exercises with the tubing are creative. Originality is a good thing. We all get tired of crunches.
The best parts of this video are the moves at the very end. I love the sit-ups on one hip. Cathe Friedrich does a similar move that’s much more difficult (and that I dread) so this was a nice compromise.
There’s no stretch at the end. Just saying… you’ll need to add a few minutes of stretching.
There’s more than one way to access Turbo Fire workouts. Check out another option at the end of this post.
Don’t buy Turbo Fire for Core 20. But buy it. The other routines make it worth the investment.
This is a unique ab routine.
There are much more effective ab workouts out there that take less time but if you’re looking for something different this is a good choice.
